FPC21047 Resolution to approve the promotions to Police Lieutenant (5 positions) Attachments: MPD-Promotions to Police Lieutenant (5 positions) Commissioner Avalos motioned to hold the promotion for Bradley Blum so he can be interviewed at the 3-18-2021 FPC meeting, seconded by Commissioner Wilson. None opposed. All in favor. The motion carried. This Fire and Police Resolution was ADOPTED with the exception of the hold for Bradley Blum's promotion 14. FPC21048 Resolution to approve the promotions to Police Sergeant (23 positions) Attachments: MPD Promotions to Police Sergeant (23 positions) A motion was made by Fred Crouther, seconded by Anna Wilson, that this Fire and Police Resolution be ADOPTED. This motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Aye: 6- Avalos, McKenzie, Cocroft, Crouther, Soler, and Wilson No: 0 15. None opposed. All in favor. The motion carried. A motion was made by Angela McKenzie, seconded by Anna Wilson that this Fire and Police Resolution be HELD IN COMMISSION. This motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Aye: 6- Avalos, McKenzie, Cocroft, Crouther, Soler, and Wilson No: 0 Motion to Adjourn Commissioner McKenzie motioned to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner Avalos. None Opposed. All in favor. The motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. City of Milwaukee Page 5 FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSION Meeting Minutes - Final March 4, 2021 The Board may receive a motion to convene in closed session in City Hall, room 301-B, 200 East Wells Street, on the Standard Operating Procedure amendments, disciplinary actions or promotions in the Police Department or the promotions in the Fire Department, pursuant to Section 19.85 (1)(b), Wis. Stat. for the purpose of considering information pertaining to the dismissal, demotion, licensing or discipline of any public employee, pursuant to Section 19.85 (1)(c), Wis. Stats. to consider employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over whom the Board has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility, or pursuant to Section 19.85 (1)(f) Wis. Stats. to consider financial, medical, social or personal histories of specific candidates for employment which, if discussed in public, would be likely to have a substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of any person referred to in such histories, or pursuant to Section 19.85 (1)(g), Wis. Stats. to confer with a representative of the City Attorney's Office who will render oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the Board with respect to litigation in which it is or is likely to become involved. The Board may then reconvene in open session concerning any such item following the closed session. Upon reasonable notice, efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities through sign language interpreters or auxiliary aids.
