APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA CONSENT AGENDA – ITEMS RECOMMENDED FOR APPROVAL (All items listed under the Consent Agenda will be enacted by one motion unless a Commissioner requires otherwise, in which event, the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered separately.) 1. This motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Aye: 6- Diaz, Reed Daniels, Wagner, VandeBerg, Lott, and Lloyd No: 0 2. R13159 Resolution approving award of contract to Hurt Electric Inc. R13160 Election of the Chair Sponsors: THE CHAIR Commissioner Lloyd made a motion to open the nominations for the office of Chair and Commissioner Daniels seconded. Commissioner Daniels made a motion to nominate Mark Wagner for Chair and Commissioner Diaz seconded the motion. Commissioner Diaz made a motion to close the nominations for the office of Chair, and Commissioner VandeBerg seconded the motion. Chair Wagner thanked the Commissioners for allowing him to continue as Chair. He considers it an honor, and will continue to do all he can. R13161 Election of the Vice Chair City of Milwaukee Page 2 HOUSING AUTHORITY Meeting Minutes June 18, 2020 Sponsors: THE CHAIR Commissioner Lloyd made a motion to open the nominations for the office of Vice Chair and Commissioner Daniels seconded. Commissioner Lloyd made a motion to nominate Ricardo Diaz for Vice Chair and Commissioner Daniels seconded the motion. Commissioner Lloyd made a motion to close the nominations for the office of Vice Chair, and Commissioner Daniels seconded the motion. Ms. Marsells stated that HACM will be working with Torti Gallas + Partners in identifying a family development eligible to submit an application. Commissioners discussed the challenges in identifying a family development and the boundaries associated with the application. Mr. Pérez directed the Board to a letter regarding hazard pay that was mailed to eligible employees. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act grant was received by HACM through the U.S. Department Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for hazard pay, safety equipment and supplies. These additional funds will help to assist departments to maintain minimum staffing in positions that carry a regular, prolonged and repeated risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Mr. Pérez asked Fernando Aniban, HACM’s Chief Financial Officer, for a summary of the CARES Act funding. Mr. Aniban informed the Board that HACM received additional funding, including administrative fees to pay COVID-19 related expenses, like the hazard pay. Mr. Aniban stated that the Rent Assistance Program received $710,000 and Public Housing received $936,000. Chair Wagner concluded by thanking Commissioner Daniels for her nomination and thanking HACM staff for their support. Adjournment There being no further business, Commissioner VandeBerg made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 2:07pm. Commissioner Lloyd seconded the motion.
