During the meeting he stated he would install cameras. The officer visited the premises on January 14th, but cameras had not yet been installed. The visit occurred at approximately 5:00 PM and the opening time on the license was 8:00 PM. An individual was on premise consuming alcohol. The applicant states that cameras have since been installed. Ald. Perez - He states that he has seen that cameras have been installed. Ald. He responded with the following to items on the police report: Item 49 - Shots fired were a block and a half away from the premises. Item 50 - The applicant did not know the person holding the event would have DJs, but cancelled the event when he was made aware. Item 52 - Club staff was involved in dispersing the crowd and establishing order. Item 55 - An abatement plan was discussed with police. Item 56 - The club closed at 12:30, and the car was stopped by police at 1: 11. The applicant reviewed security video showing the injured party had been present earlier in the night, but it was unclear about how she was injured. Additional individuals present: Captain Alfonso Morales - He states he is concerned that an armed person whose ID was not scanned was able to enter the club and fire shots. He states that the applicant has implemented additional security since November. Assistant City Atty. Nick Desiato - While there has been a recent lull in incidents, the district is concerned with the incidents that have occurred. Ald. Perez - He met with the applicant's daughter to discuss correcting incidents. A shooting occurred after the meeting. He does not support renewal of the license based on items on the police report. Individuals appearing in support: Maracone Balderas - 2500 S 28th St - She has noticed changes in security. It has been increased since her earlier visits at the club. The club scans IDs and does patdowns. Charlie Sacalone - 2200 W College Ave - She has noticed an increased security presence since her visits at the club last summer. Dolores Schraeder - 714 S Bedinger Ct - She lives near the club has not noticed much noise emanating from it. Richard Schraeder - 714 S Bedinger Ct - He states he feels safe living near the club. Pedro Torres - 3264 S 9th Pl - He states that the club has good security. Sterling Odem - 207 E Buffalo St - He works at the club as a photographer. He states the applicant has worked to increase security and is open to suggestions to improve security. Benjamin Hernandez - 2960 S 10th - He is a patron of the club and formerly worked as security. Latindra Wilson - 911 N 24th St - She states that security has gotten better and she feels safer in the establishment. Homer Blow - Music Director of Blow Radio - He states that he thinks the owner and manager have tried to rectify issues and they are willing to work with the police department. Sheila Colone - 1960 N White St - She states she is a patron and that security has been increased. Ald. Kovac moved renewal with 30 day suspension based on police report items 49, 52, 53, and 54.
