Applicant stated the employee was terminated who participated in afterhours party. The person who shot off the gun was not an employee or patron. The marijuana occurred in the parking lot and it was a patron. He understand that it is a previledge to have a license, but he does not have control over patrons after they leave his bar. He is doing what he can to maintain a safe environment, has installed cameras, and joined the Respect 21 program. Ald. Stamper recommended adding a check for weapons. Ald. Kovac moved approval with a 30 day suspension based on items #6-7 in the police report. (Failed, 2-3 with Alds. Zielinski, Puente, Coggs voting no). Ald. The Alderman's main concern is who owns the building. Oppossed: Gerad Krunk, 5507 W North Ave, stated he wants the incoming restaurant to be good for the block and for it to be operated well. Larry Newman N77W32041 Northwoods Dr, Hartland, WI, stated he is oppossed due to problems with litter and parking. In support: Walter Matthew, 331 E Garfield Ave, stated he is a chef consultant working with the applicant. Lenzy Crawford, 6041 N 60th St, stated the previous restuarant owned by applicant was good. Cornelius McClendon, 6515 W Center St, stated he hopes resturant will add to the North Ave envionrment. Sam Cole, 5919 W North Ave,stated he thinks applicant will do well. Robin Pitts, 13160 W Center St, Brookfield, building owner, stated there was a problem with the title company and that is why the taxes are in arears. Ald. Stamper moved approval. (Prevailed 5-0).
