Chambers moved to call the meeting at order at 9:14 am to accommodate Mr. Toribio Perez Martinez. There were no objections. (Prevailed 4-0) Present 4 - Coggs, Borkowski, Chambers Jr., Brostoff Excused 1 - Pratt 1. 231489 Motion relating to the recommendations of the Licenses Committee relating to licenses. Sponsors: THE CHAIR 08 LAYTON, Antonio R, Agent for "La Cueva LLC", Class B Tavern and Public Entertainment Premises License Applications Requesting Disc Jockey, Bands, Karaoke, 5 Amusement Machines and Patrons Dancing for "La Cueva" at 2537 W National Av. The applicant was present along with Atty. Vincent Bobot. Atty. Bobot explained that his client has not had any other citation for OWI after the incident from the police report. He also said that his client has experience in the industry and that he has invested over $100K in renovations to the building. Individuals also present: Mr. Cooney indicated that Ald. Zamarripa's office requested that this application be scheduled for today's hearing. Atty. Bobot said that he has talked to Ald. Zamarripa few times as this building has been vacant for over 2 years and that she was looking for an investor. He added that she supports this application. Ald. Chambers moved approval. Pratt moved to hold in abeyance 20 days of the 30 day suspension recommended for the Class B Tavern, Public Entertainment Premises and Food Dealer licenses for Tonia R. Otis; for the premises located at 3535 W Villard Av. (“Uptown Bar and Grill”) in the 1st aldermanic district. The motion reflects the time the business was closed because the licenses lapsed. The remainder of the suspension is in effect until February 16th. (Prevailed 3-1) A motion was made by ALD. CHAMBERS JR. that this Motion be AMENDED. This motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Aye 3- Coggs, Borkowski, and Chambers Jr. No 1- Brostoff Excused 1- Pratt Ald. Brostoff moved to renew with a warning letter the Class B Tavern and Public Entertainment Premises licenses for Eric A. Rasmussen; for the premises located at 2859 N Oakland Av. (d.b.a. “Axels”) in the 3rd aldermanic district. There were no objections. (Prevailed 4-0) A motion was made by ALD. BROSTOFF that this Motion be AMENDED. This motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Aye 4- Coggs, Borkowski, Chambers Jr., and Brostoff No 0 Excused 1- Pratt Ald. Borkowski moved approval of the file 231489 as amended. There were no objections. (Prevailed 4-0) Ald. Brostoff moved approval of the file 231489 as amended at 9:16 am. A motion was made by ALD. BROSTOFF that this Motion be RECOMMENDED FOR APPROVAL.
