The meeting was called to order at 9:02 am
Ald. Chambers moved to call the meeting at order at 9:14 am to accommodate Mr.
Toribio Perez Martinez. There were no objections. (Prevailed 4-0)

1. 231489 Motion relating to the recommendations of the Licenses Committee
relating to licenses.

Entertainment Premises License Applications Requesting Disc Jockey, Bands,
Karaoke, 5 Amusement Machines and Patrons Dancing for "La Cueva" at 2537 W
National Av.
The applicant was present along with Atty. Vincent Bobot.
Atty. Bobot explained that his client has not had any other citation for OWI after the
incident from the police report. He also said that his client has experience in the
industry and that he has invested over $100K in renovations to the building.
Individuals also present:
Mr. Cooney indicated that Ald. Zamarripa's office requested that this application be
scheduled for today's hearing.
Atty. Bobot said that he has talked to Ald. Zamarripa few times as this building has
been vacant for over 2 years and that she was looking for an investor. He added that
she supports this application.
Ald. Chambers moved approval. There were no objections. (Prevailed 4-0)

Ald. Chambers on behalf of Ald. Pratt moved to hold in abeyance 20 days of the 30
day suspension recommended for the Class B Tavern, Public Entertainment Premises
and Food Dealer licenses for Tonia R. Otis; for the premises located at 3535 W Villard
Av. (“Uptown Bar and Grill”) in the 1st aldermanic district. The motion reflects the time
the business was closed because the licenses lapsed. The remainder of the
suspension is in effect until February 16th. (Prevailed 3-1)

Limited parking for persons attending meetings during normal business hours is available at reduced
rates (5 hour limit) at the Milwaukee Center on the southwest corner of Kilbourn Avenue and Water
Street. You must present a copy of the meeting notice to the parking cashier.
Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code are required to
register with the City Clerk's License Division. Lobbyists appearing before a Common Council
