Roll Call Individual also present: Sally Witte, Department of City Development Present 9 - Murphy, Kingsbury, Morris, Flores, Fraker, Kosarzycki, Murphy, Layden and Hill Absent 3 - Cubias, DeLind and Balistreri Excused 5 - McSweeney, Kovac, Harpole, Klose and Garcia 2. Review and Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes Mr. Flores moved approval of the meeting minutes, seconded by Ms. Morris. There were no objections. 3. Public Art Subcommittee Report Ms. Morris gave stated the funds have been reopened. The New Work Fund deadline is February 28th and the Conservation Fund deadline is January 31st. 4. Grants Update Ms. Witte stated 5 of the 33 project grant reports have been submitted and January 31st is the deadline for incomplete projects to submit the progress reports. She added that Bel Canto cancelled their project, returning $2,500 awarded to them. City of Milwaukee Page 1 MILWAUKEE ARTS BOARD Meeting Minutes January 10, 2017 5. Old Business There was no old business. 6. Announcements Mr. Hill stated Jazele's Art Studio is partnering with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee through audio interviews and paintings on January 28th. Ms. Kingsbury stated Woodland Pattern 15-hour annual poetry marathon will begin on January 28th at 10 AM. Ms. Morris stated the Winter Carnival at Lynden Sculpture Garden witll occur Janaury 28th. Ms. Flores stated there is a wall paper exhibition at Villa Terrace. Ms. Layden stated there is a Jeffrey Gibson exhibit at the Haggerty Museum opening on February 2nd that includes conversation with the artist. Ald. Announcements In the event that Common Council members who are not members of this committee attend this meeting, this meeting may also simultaneously constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of the following committees: Community and Economic Development, Finance and Personnel, Judiciary and Legislation, Licenses, Public Safety, Public Works, Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development, and/or Steering and Rules. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority. In the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information gathering will be taken at the simultaneous meeting. Limited parking for persons attending meetings in City Hall is available at reduced rates (5 hour limit) at the Milwaukee Center on the southwest corner of East Kilbourn and North Water Street. Parking tickets must be validated in the first floor Information Booth in City Hall. Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances are required to register with the City Clerk's Office License Division.
