Roll Call The meeting convened at 4:04 PM Individual also present: Sally Witte, DCD Present 11 - Murphy, DeLind, Kingsbury, McSweeney, Morris, Flores, Kosarzycki, Murphy, Layden, Balistreri and Garcia Absent 2 - Cubias and Hill Excused 4 - Fraker, Kovac, Harpole and Klose 2. Review and Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes Mr. Flores moved approval, seconded by Mr. Murphy. There were no objections. 3. Public Art Subcommittee Report Ms. Morris stated 6 applications for the New Work Fund were received. She stated that 2 applications were ineligible because they had received funding in the previous year. She stated that at the next meeting the remaining applicants will be invited in to give presentations. 4. Project Grants Update Ms. Witte stated 46 applications for grants were received. 5. New Business City of Milwaukee Page 1 MILWAUKEE ARTS BOARD Meeting Minutes March 13, 2018 Ms. Kosarzycki stated she and Ms. Balestreri were selected as jurors for Congresswoman Gwen Moore's annual art competition for high school students. 6. Old Business Ms. Witte stated the Madison Group will be coming to inventory the City's art collection soon. She stated that she has been talking with Jennifer Stearns-Meyer regarding the Library's art inventory. She stated that DCD purchased File Maker Pro to manage the inventory. 7. Announcements Ms. Witte reminded members that at the next meeting voting for Artist of the Year and Friends of the Arts will be conducted. She added nominations are due by March 30th. Mr. Flores stated Jack London from the Skylight asked about arts programming for the opening of the streetcar. Ms. Witte stated Wild Space Dance Company is also interested in participating in the opening of the streetcar. Announcements In the event that Common Council members who are not members of this committee attend this meeting, this meeting may also simultaneously constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of the following committees: Community and Economic Development, Finance and Personnel, Judiciary and Legislation, Licenses, Public Safety, Public Works, Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development, and/or Steering and Rules. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority. In the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information gathering will be taken at the simultaneous meeting. Limited parking for persons attending meetings in City Hall is available at reduced rates (5 hour limit) at the Milwaukee Center on the southwest corner of East Kilbourn and North Water Street. Parking tickets must be validated in the first floor Information Booth in City Hall. Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances are required to register with the City Clerk's Office License Division.
