no objections.
3 New Work Fund
a) Discuss possible artist in residency program
Ms. Morris said that made a lot of progress this week for the Artist Residency
Program: Sally, Terri, Vanessa and herself had a very productive meeting; and that
Emilia, Tina and herself were able to compare the work from the New York and L.A.
County Residency Programs and that they are trying to put together a strategy to move
forward with a one page draft. Also said that there is about $90,000 dollars including
the $25,000 dollars of this year on the public art fund because during the pandemic the
board was not moving a lot of projects and that money will be taken back at certain
point. Added that this money will fund the fist 18 months of the project and probably
move to a 50-50 structure or 50-40-10 structure and that Ms. Klose found out that
some federal grants from ARPA and DCD are circulating that might be accessed as a
match. Also said that 2 competitions can be run: one for the agencies and one for the
artists. Ms. Morris said that it would be ideal to have the subcommittee feedback
before the next meeting to put it on the one page draft.
Ms. Svetic said that things went well and that she will follow up with Ms. Koster to get
another meeting date.
Ms. Morris said that she expects to launch the program in June.
4 Conservation Fund
a) Updates – no applications
Ms. Morris said that no applications have been received yet but she is aware about
one coming up soon.

vice-chair information to be published immediately (tomorrow).
Sally Svetic said that Karleen Cortes handles the postings in social media and that
she will make sure to update that information to get it out as well.
Ms. Klose said that the project could be featured on the City of Milwaukee homepage.
Ms. Sweeney said that there is Wahl bust that will be returned to Lake Park and that
we might hear from them.
Ms. Morris said that she welcomes all ideas to have the word out for this matter.
5 New Business
No new business were discussed.
6 Old Business
a) Art Collection
No old business were discussed but Ms. Morris mentioned that Derrick called her to
let her know that he is moving forward with the sale of two lots on Vliet St. and that he
has updated his business plan to put up a tent (temporarily) on the corner to get
started and that he asked her to share this information with the board.
In reference to the Wahl bust that will be moved back to Lake Park, Ms. Klose
brought up the sculpture in front of the City Hall.
Ms. Sweeney said that needs a cleaning and the lights are not good for it besides
being a distraction for the building.
Ms. Morris said that the subcommittee was not consulted about placing the sculpture
there but that she has gotten a lot of emails with complaints.
Ms. Klose asked Mrs. Morris if she has advised to clean it.
Ms. Morris said no and that the location is not good (heavy traffic) for the sculpture and
asked Sally Svetic if she can have someone from DPW to talk about the sculpture
maintenance.
Sally Svetic said that she will look into it.
