Members excused: Tina Klose and Emilia Layden. Absent: Sandra McSweeney. The meeting will be conducted to only discuss the items due the lack of quorum. 2 Review and Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes No quorum for a roll call vote. 3 New Work Fund -Discuss possible artist in residency program No discussion. 4 Conservation Fund -Updates – no applications, a few possible projects Regarding the application received from Neil Albrecht: Ms. Morris said that she wants to know who owns the sculpture or the art collection and asked how do the subcommittee feels about doing that type of conservation fund and wants to know if Villa Terrace is open for the public at any time. Added that it is part of the museum's mission to take care of the sculptures at the exterior and that they should be raising funds to conserve their own art collection. She said that they should find more about if the sculpture should be on a public property as well in order to get funds from the committee. Ms. Svetic said that the sculpture should be fully accessible to the public and located within the city. Ms. Morris said that even if the museum (Villa Terrace) closes its gates, the sculpture still visible. Ms. Svetic said that clarification will be requested on accessibility to the public and that the Charles Allis Art Museum owns the sculpture. City of Milwaukee Page 1 MILWAUKEE ARTS BOARD PUBLIC Meeting Minutes February 8, 2022 ART SUBCOMMITTEE 5 New Business -DPW Conservation Projects – Tom Tarkowski from DPW will be in attendance -Rotunda Exhibitions Ms. Svetic said that the invitation to DPW was to see if there is a way to partnership as it was mentioned on the previous meeting. Ms. Morris said that two conservations projects Rotunda exhibitions: Ms. Morris said that occasionally people is send on that direction and want to know if the person in charge can receive suggestions from the board because it seems that there is disconnection and wonders if we can also set up a meeting with them. Ms. Svetic said that it is a possibility and that she will circle back to the person in charge. 6 Old Business -Art Collection No discussion. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority.
