(Expires 10/31/2016) The applicant stated there was an accident on the Jackson St off ramp which is why he had to detour and the trip took longer, which is why it cost more. He added that normally a ride from the airport to downtown is $35. Ald. Bohl moved to enter into the record as exhibit #1 paper work provided by the applicant from DOT regarding the accident on the day in question. (Prevailed 5-0) Ald. Kovac asked the applicant if he thought it was appropriate to charge the complainant more than the usual rate due to the unusual circumstances of an accident. The applicant responded that he thought it was appropriate to charge more than $35 because he had to drive around to get to the Pfister due to the accident. Ald. Bauman moved approval with a 10 day suspension based upon the applicant's testimony substantiating the complaint. (Prevailed 3-1-1, Ald. Bohl voting no, and Ald. He stated he got his OWI case reopened and his drug test came back as negative. He stated his texting while driving ticket is still going through court the process. Ald. Individual also present: Ali Mohamed President of Yellow Cab stated he suspended the applicant for 48 hours due to the complaint and when he talked to the applicant, the applicant stated he told the complainant to hurry up.
