Fl., City Hall Meeting convened: 1:40 P.M. The Steering and Rules Committee may convene into closed session at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, October 2, 2014 in Room 301-B, City Hall, 200 E. Wells St., Milwaukee, Wisconsin, pursuant to s. 19.85(1)(g), Wis. Stats., for the purpose of conferring with the City Attorney who will render oral or written advice with respect to litigation in which the city is or is likely to become involved and then will go into open session for the regular agenda. Ald. Kovac moved to go into closed session. There were no objections. Ald. Kovac moved to go into open session. There were no objections. (3rd Aldermanic District) Sponsors: THE CHAIR A motion was made by ALD. HAMILTON that this Appointment be RECOMMENDED FOR CONFIRMATION. This motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Aye 8- Murphy, Kovac, Davis, Hamilton, Bauman, Witkowski, Zielinski and Bohl No 0 2. 140912 A substitute ordinance relating to the use of financial incentives to recruit students to enroll at city charter schools. Kovac moves to accept the letter from Schools and Communities United. There were no objections. Larry Hoffman - 1225 E. Wright St. - author of the letter from Schools and Communities United. He supports the legislation. A motion was made by ALD. KOVAC that this Ordinance be RECOMMENDED FOR PASSAGE. This motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Aye 8- Murphy, Kovac, Davis, Hamilton, Bauman, Witkowski, Zielinski and Bohl No 0 3. 130662 Substitute resolution relating to the procedure for determining City-owned school buildings surplus and authorizing their sale. Sponsors: Ald. Donovan Ald. Murphy presented Proposed Sub. B. There were no objections. MURPHY that this Resolution be SUBSTITUTED. This motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Aye 8- Murphy, Kovac, Davis, Hamilton, Bauman, Witkowski, Zielinski and Bohl No 0 130662 Substitute resolution relating to the procedure for determining City-owned school buildings surplus and authorizing their sale or lease, and directing the Department of Administration-Intergovernmental Relations Division and the Common Council’s Legislative Coordinator to seek changes in state law to eliminate certain provisions relating to the sale of City-owned property. Sponsors: Ald. Murphy, Ald. Witkowski, Ald. Bohl and Ald. Bauman A motion was made by ALD. BAUMAN that this Resolution be RECOMMENDED FOR ADOPTION.
