1. Call to order 4:49 P.M.

Present 9 - May, Yang, Gonzalez, Estremera-Maldonado, Tietyn-Mlengana, Haywood
II, Wade, Jaeckels and Parker
Excused 5 - Richmond, Ellzey, Barrett, Hines and Ali
3. Appearance by Milwaukee Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Driver
Conversation with Dr. Driver and the Milwaukee Youth Council members.
Dr. Driver presented members with the current strategic planning that MPS is
undergoing:
1. Academic achievmemt:

-- Educating the Whole child
-- Rethinking High School
-- Redefining the MPS experience
2. Student, Family and Community engagement:

-- Re-envisioning partnerships

Q&A Session
Youth Council members offered suggestions to Dr. Driver regarding how to help
those peers that are not showing a great level of success.

Members give their feedback on the Congressional conference in Washington D.C.
Mr. Owczarski thanked Ms. Williams and Ms. McHenry for being volunteers as
chaperone of the Milwaukee Youth members to this expereince.

this meeting may constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of its standing

hour limit) at the Milwaukee Center on the southwest corner of East Kilbourn and North Water
Street. Parking tickets must be validated in the first floor Information Booth in City Hall.
Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances
are required to register with the City Clerk's Office License Division. Registered lobbyists
appearing before a Common Council committee are required to identify themselves as such.
