Present 4 - Gambrell-Toliver, Alcantara, Dunn and Castro Absent 1 - McDade Excused 5 - Lofton, Gonzales, Smith, Headley and Jordan 3. Presentation from the Milwaukee Police Department relating to youth engagement. Appearing: MPD Juvenile Probation/parole JMCOR - PO Ronald Edwards PO Billie Ellis Communicty Outreach and Education program from the Police Department that deal with young adults and teens who are at risk, that have become part of the criminal justice system due to criminal activities and are now on probation and parole; Officers are seeking participation from the youth council to influence them and want to change their ways. Office of Violence Prevention also works in coolaboration with MPD. 4. Presentation relating to the Hour Against Hate program. Appearing: Andrea Bernstein - Hours Against Hate Coordinator Ms. Bernstein coordinates a powerful program of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation to promote respect and dismantle bigotry in Milwaukee. Hours Against Hate mobolizes participants to spend an hour or more interacting with someone of a different race, culture, religion, tradition, class, sexual orientation, gender or physical ability. Ms. Bernstein appeared before council in hopes of leveraging the Youth Council members to initiate dialog back in their schools and neighborhoods. 5. Concert Across America. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority. In the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information gathering will be taken at the simultaneous meeting. Upon reasonable notice, efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities through sign language interpreters or auxiliary aids. Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances are required to register with the City Clerk's Office License Division.
