OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK-TREASURER Mayor – Danny Clark City Administrator | Matthew Honer | administrator@cityofmineralpointwi.gov City Clerk-Treasurer | Christy Skelding | cityclerk@cityofmineralpointwi.gov Minutes for City of Mineral Point Bicentennial Ad Hoc Committee Meeting Wednesday, June 3, 2026 - 6:30 PM – City Hall Present: Lauren Powers, Cory Bennett, Mike Christensen, Christina Kubasta, Laura Cisler, Christina James, Donna Toay, Jerry Galle, Rick Reger, Bev Harris, Tom Schmidt, Dick Josh, Matthew Payne, Claire Johnston, Joy Gieseke 1. Call to Order, Roll Call 2. Approve Minutes from April meeting – Mike made motion, Cory seconded; all in favor – motion passed. 3. Welcome to Org Reps; introductions 4. Status of website, calendar, bank account: added archived photos to website, Board Shoppe coasters. Calendar has dates for events we have dates for; if they don’t have an event, it isn’t on the calendar yet. No bank account has been opened yet pending working with Chamber Foundation and Point Forward. A follow up meeting with Point Forward and the Chamber Foundation will take place on June 8 at 11:30 at the Hodan Center. We hope to have this resolved by our next meeting. 5. Review Possible Budgets for Projects: Laura shared ideas for business & individuals sponsorships tiers to raise funds for the event. Matthew is going to look for state grants. Jerry suggests asking class years to sponsor the event. Mike shared draft expenses 6. 2027 tentative timeline of events update – Orgs to claim ideas; Railroad Museum plans on doing a shindig on the 4th of July; 7. City Decorations; Dick Poad was not in attendance, but we will need to nail down expenses to start asking for sponsors 8. Anthology update – Mike C shared Frank’s update, as Frank was unable to attend tonight. 9. Restaurant Involvement; Eliza has representation, but no other restaurants were present. Zeke may make a beer that is specific to the bicentennial, and Erin to create a wine specific to the bicentennial. Cory will share committee meeting info with MP Chamber members. 10. Business Sponsorships & Grant Opportunities; a tiered sponsorship level structure will be shared at next meeting 11. Adjourn; meeting scheduled for July 13th at 6:00 at City Hall. Mike will confirm availability with City.
