DEPARMENT UPDATES Commander Ryan provided an update to the commission about the Fair Chance Act, requiring agencies to provide a conditional job offer to a candidate prior to the background process. Said hiring process is moving along, hopeful to have some new employees on board near the end of summer. 6. GOOD OF THE ORDER Nothing for the good of the order. 7. Department's intent to apply Civil Service Rule 9.14 Rule 9.14 of the Civil Service Rules, states that the names of candidates certified to the eligibility list shall remain on the list until they are certified to the secondary eligibility list (upon beginning the background process). The candidate has met that requirement. Entry-level candidate Mason Boyer was certified to the eligibility list by the Civil Service Commission on July 21, 2025. He received a conditional offer of employment on June 15, 2026. The candidate is currently undergoing the background check process.
