CITY OF MONROE JUDICIARY AND ORDINANCE REVIEW COMMITTEE MINUTES DATE: MONDAY, MARCH 9, 2026 TIME: 5:30 PM PLACE: CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS - 1110 18TH AVE A. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL The Judiciary and Ordinance Review meeting was called to order on Monday, March 9, at 6:07 PM. Present in person were Dylan McGuire, Tom Miller, Heidi Treuthardt, and Lynne Kleven. B. CORRECTION OF MINUTES - FEBRUARY 23, 2026 The February 23, 2026 minutes were accepted as presented. C. BUSINESS 1. Discussion Regarding Filling Alderperson Vacancy Ordinance Administrator Rindy reviewed the current ordinance and procedure for filling an alderman vacancy. The timeline for implementing the process was discussed; however, it would not apply to the current election. Alder Miller explained his reasons for presenting the matter, and most were in favor. The discussion focused on continuing to move forward with the process for the future. The next person on the ballot would fill the position, with no write-ins considered. D. BUSINESS PRESENTED BY MEMBERS E. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Kleven, seconded by Treuthardt, to adjourn at 6:18 PM. The motion passed 4-0, by the following vote: AYES:Lynne Kleven, Tom Miller, Dylan McGuire, Heidi Treuthardt NOES:None ABSENT:None  ABSTAINED: None This Committee may take any action it considers appropriate related to any item on this agenda.
