CITY OF MONROE LICENSE COMMITTEE MINUTES DATE: TUESDAY, MAY 26, 2026 TIME: 4:45 PM PLACE: COUNCIL CHAMBERS - 1110 18TH AVENUE A. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL The License Committee meeting was called to order on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 4:45 PM. Present in person were Christopher Vestin, Richard Thoman, and Darlene Voelkli. B. CORRECTION OF MINUTES - MAY 11, 2026 The meeting from May 11, 2026 were accepted as presented. C. BUSINESS 1. Discussion and Possible Recommendation to Common Council the Temporary "Class B" Wine & Class "B" Beer and Beer Garden Applications in Conjunction with Cheese Days Event A motion was made by Voelkli, seconded by Thoman, to approve and recommend to Common Council. The motion passed 3-0, by the following vote: AYES:Richard Thoman, Christopher Vestin, Darlene Voelkli NOES:None ABSENT:None ABSTAINED: None 2. Discussion and Possible Recommendation to Common Council to Approve Temporary Outdoor Beer Garden License and Premise Extension for Cactus & Co at 1610 11th Street Administrator Rindy gave an overview of the request regarding the event being held as a fundraiser for Bartels to help support the business following the fire. Due  to increased participation, the request included expanding the premises through the parking stalls in front of the building. The City would barricade the outer lane of the Square, while Main Street would provide barricades for the sidewalk and three parking stalls. A motion was made by Thoman, seconded by Voelkli, to approve and recommend to Common Council. The motion passed 3-0, by the following vote: AYES: Richard Thoman, Christopher Vestin, Darlene Voelkli NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAINED: None D. BUSINESS PRESENTED BY MEMBERS E. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Thoman, seconded by Voelkli, to adjourn at 4:54 PM.
