CITY OF MONROE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE MINUTES DATE: MONDAY, JUNE 8, 2026 TIME: 4:55 PM PLACE: COUNCIL CHAMBERS - 1110 18TH AVENUE A. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL The Public Safety Committee meeting was called to order on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 4:50 PM. Present in person were Corinne Wartenweiler, Matt Sheaffer, and Darlene Voelkli. B. CORRECTION OF MINUTES - MAY 26, 2026 The May 26, 2026, minutes were accepted as presented. C. BUSINESS PRESENTED BY POLICE DEPARTMENT 1. Discussion and Possible Recommendation to Common Council the City of Monroe Park & Recreation's July 4th Celebration Special Event Alder Voelker asked questions regarding the event application. Alder Wartenweiler also asked questions and expressed concerns about the Park and Recreation Department selling and serving beer in the park during the event. She stated her opposition to allowing open containers throughout the entire park. A motion was made by Voelkli, seconded by Sheaffer, to approve and recommend to Common Council . The motion passed 3-0, by the following vote: AYES:Corinne Wartenweiler, Matt Sheaffer, Darlene Voelkli NOES:None ABSENT:None ABSTAINED: None D. BUSINESS BY MEMBERS E. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Wartenweiler, seconded by Voelkli, to adjourn at 4:58 PM.
