Saccotelli www.mountprospect.org DRAFT MINUTES OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT TRANSPORTATION SAFETY COMMISSION CALL TO ORDER The meeting of the Mount Prospect Transportation Safety Commission was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025. Commissioner DeAragon, seconded by Representative Moe motioned to approve the minutes with the E-Bike discussion added. The motion passed by a vote of 7-0. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD None. NEW BUSINESS Complete Streets Annual Summary The Village of Mount Prospect adopted a Complete Streets Policy on February 4, 2020. As part of the policy, the Engineering Division will annually present to the Commission the results of eight performance measures as outlined in the policy. He summarized efforts of the Public Works Department in 2025 as it relates to the Complete Streets Policy. No formal action was necessary or taken. COMMISSION ISSUES Commissioner Pellicore provided a brief overview of the Hatlen Heights Friendly Neighborhood Streets Program presentation to the Village Board at the December 2nd meeting, further, Commissioner Pellicore requested an update from Staff. Liaison Foresman indicated that the Village Board had not approved the project as recommended by the Transportation Safety Commission, instead, they wanted more information on stop signs and speed humps as they relate to traffic calming. Staff will be presenting the additional requested information to the Village Board at the December 16 meeting. Unless directed by the Village Board, the project will not be coming back to the Transportation Safety Commission for further discussion. Liaison Foresman provided an update on the William Street Friendly Neighborhood Streets Program Project: the project was approved by the Village Board on October 28, 2025 as recommended by the Transportation Safety Commission. Staff is now working on implementation pending the outcome of the Hatlen Heights Friendly Neighborhood Streets Program Project. Commissioner Lowry offered appreciation to Public works for exemplary snow removal operations during the recent winter storm. Commission Pellicore asked how the Friendly Neighborhood Streets Program was promoted to the public. Liaison Foresman indicated that whenever residents reach out about traffic issues that could qualify, they are referred to the program. Additionally, there is an opportunity for the program to be included in a future newsletter. TSC Meeting Page 2 of 3 December 8, 2025 Page 3 of 4 Commissioner Lowry asked for an update on the Melas-Meadows Bridge Project. Liaison Foresman indicated that the plans were complete and the Village, IDOT and the railroad were finalizing easement/access documents. Once those are complete, the project will be bid. Commissioner DeAragon announced that this would be her last meeting on the Transportation Safety Commission. Liaison Foresman presented thank you gifts from the Mayor to commissioners as a token of appreciation for their time volunteering on the Transportation Safety Commission. ADJOURNMENT With no further business to discuss, the Transportation Safety Commission voted 7-0 to adjourn at 7:45 p.m. upon the motion of Chairperson Kuehlthau.
