Old # 1 Fire Truck Preservation Committee November 17, 2025 Meeting Minutes CALL TO ORDER MINUTES APPROVAL Approval of the October, 20, 2025 Minutes OLD BUSINESS Recent Reviews: • Village Proclamation • 100th Anniversary Wrap-up REVIEW: The Village presented a Proclamation for Old Number One’s 100th Anniversary to our committee. Several of the committee members attended the presentation. The plaque will be mounted in the Fire Station along with our other awards. 100TH ANNIVERSARY WRAP-UP; Which events will we consider for next year and which ones we may not. The events we will consider are: The Fremont library; Drive the Village. However, there are only 2 events: Community Days Car Show; the Museum may or may not have an event; The Firefighter Pancake Breakfast; Cars and Cigars Car Show; Farmers Market — at least 3 times; Lake County Fair; National Night Out; Grand Dominion Car Show; Antique Fire Truck Show; Tiger Truck Fest and the Fire Department Open House. We will also do the Memorial Day Parade, Community Days Parade and the High School Homecoming Parade. We will consider the Libertyville Parade, and we will need to look for a new golf outing venue. 2025 / 2026 Planning • Commission vacancy / Application process • People who may be interested in our committee? • 100th Anniversary picture • December 2025 meeting  2025/2026 PLANNING: Begin to look for a replacement for Vern and look for possible people interested in filling the position. We did take a picture by Old#1, of all the members present at the November meeting. A motion was made to forgo a December meeting, but to plan on getting together for the Holidays to cheer the 100th Anniversary Year! Maintenance • Carb adjustment? Rebuild? • Tire cover for trailer tires • Check timing and dwell (may need points) • Fix brake light WINTER MAINTENANCE: We will discuss this list at the next meeting and set a time to begin the maintenance. • Look for oil leaks and try to seal. • Probable Carb rebuild. • Tire cover for trailer tires. • Fix brake light. • Check timing and dwell (may need points). • Check front-wheel bearings and check for noises at the front end. NEW BUSINESS TREASURER: We have $2,000.00 in our Scholarship fund and $20,056.20 in our regular account. FACE BOOK: Bob continues to add photos and comments.
