Old # 1 Fire Truck Preservation Committee August 19, 2024 Meeting Minutes CALL TO ORDER Bob Staldman called the meeting to order. Seconded by Ray Mullen MINUTES APPROVAL Approval of the July 15, 2024 Minutes Approval of June 17, 2024 minutes as July 15, 2024 meeting was not held. OLD BUSINESS Golf Outing Review: Wendy, Jerry, Bob Golf outing review presented. Net profit for this year $4,518.65. Events Review: Cars and Cigars: Sunday, July 21st - Canceled Intelligentsia Bike Race: Monday, July 22nd - Jerry Lake County Fair: Saturday, July 27th - Wendy National Night Out: Tuesday, August 6th - Karen Grand Dominion Car Show: Sunday, August 11th - Eli 100th Anniversary Events: Ideas • July 4th, Display at Mundelein Days. • July 5th, Display at the Museum. • Displays at Public Works Open House, Fire Department Open House, Farmers Market, Seminary. Perhaps a logo on the annual Beer Fest mugs. • Possibly have a picture of Old Number One on the beer cups at the Community Days. • Possibly have Tighthead brew a special Old Number One Beer. • Order 100th Anniversary banners and flag for the truck. • Check with the village to see if we can put banners on light poles. • Possible ideas for handouts for next year: toy fire trucks, Pewter Plaques, Coasters, Challenge Coins, fake small license plates, Coins, coasters, can cozies, small flags, T- Shirts, hats, plates, rubber ducky firefighter. NEW BUSINESS Motion passed to use up to $4,000.00 for the anniversary expenses Will invite Trustees Tim Wilson & Robin Meier to the October meeting to discuss possible events. Decided to increase the 2025 High School Scholarship to $2,000.00 Upcoming Old Number One Dates: Farmers Market - August 24th from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon Brat Fest - Friday, September 6th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Cruisin In Grayslake Car Show - Saturday, September 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Park on Park - Wednesday, September 11th from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Farmers Market – September 28th from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon Family Day at the Seminary - September 28th - possibility Unable to attend two events in September - Family Day at the Seminary as we already have another event on the schedule and are also unable to attend the Grayslake Car Show as we do not have anyone available to attend.
