Old # 1 Fire Truck Preservation Committee September 16, 2024 Meeting Minutes CALL TO ORDER Eli McLean called the meeting to order, Dan Friberg seconded. MINUTES APPROVAL The minutes for the August 2024 meeting had to be amended to show that David Bruecks resigned. Approval of the August 19, 2024 Minutes OLD BUSINESS $2000 for the Scholarship and $20,215.66 in the account for a total of $22,215.66. Treasurer’s Report: Wendy Facebook Report: Bob continues to add pictures each week or so. Check them out and talk them up to others. Events Review: Farmers Market August 24th - 8:00am – 12 noon Brat Fest Friday, September 6th 5-7:30pm Park on Park Wednesday, September 11th 4:30-8pm 100th Anniversary Events: We will have the Village Trustees Tim Wilson and Robin Meier attend our October meeting to start the conversations about next year’s celebrations. Need ideas! Bob responded to the Seminary about possible celebrations for next year at the seminary. They wish to be included. He sent them a complete history of Old Number One and the seminary. License Plates – Gary Ideas for hand-outs? 100th Anniversary Events? Facebook Report: Photos from the Farmer's Market have been added. Events Review: • Farmer's market - August 24th - Good attendance - gave away a lot of hats, including to the MHS girl's volleyball team  • Brat Fest - September 6th - Not well attended - Did get a thank you card from the committee • Park on Park - September 11th - Low number of cars and crowd - Did a remembrance of 9/11 100th Anniversary Events: • Received a request from the Seminary, which Bob S. responded to and provided a complete history of our truck and its connection to the seminary. • License plates - Consensus of the group was that this was not a project we wanted to take on as part of our celebration. • It was suggested that we have new shirts with a new 100th logo • It was suggested that we replace the logo on our current caps with a special logo for the 100th • Trustee's Robin Meier & Tim Wilson will attend the October 21st meeting to discuss the involvement of the Village. NEW BUSINESS Membership: The Open Position has been posted to the Village’s website. Discussions on open positions will continue into our October meeting. Plan on revisiting this matter at our October 21st committee meeting. That should give us plenty of time for the position to be posted and time for the committee to approve an application that we can agree on and forward that decision to the mayor. If, at that time, we need to change the village ordinance for an application – we will forward that in for the Village’s approval. Upcoming Old Number One Upcoming Dates: • Farmers Market – September 28th 8:00am – 12 noon • Fire Department’s Open House Sunday, September 29th 10am – 1pm Maintenance: • Check the bell counter, didn’t get a reading for the Farmers Market or Carl Sandburg events. Membership - The open position has been advertised in the Mundelein news several times. We plan on visiting this matter at the October meeting. The Village has to pass a change in the rules to allow Ex-Village members not living in the Village to become committee members. We need to present this to the village for one of their upcoming  meetings. Upcoming Dates - • Farmer's Market - September 28th - 8am-Noon - Vern, Gary & Bob • Fire Department Open House - September 29th - 10am-1pm - Vern, Eli, Bob, Dic, Gary Maintenance - Not sure if the counter is working.
