Hand-outs? • Seminary Event? • Thanksgiving/Holidays? Guest: Trustee Tim Wilson was introduced. Treasurer: We have $2,000.00 in our Scholarship fund and $20,215.56 in our regular account. MEMBERSHIP: Darrell Hughes was introduced and agreed to be a committee member and partake in the duties of the Old Number One committee. He has to be approved by the Mayor at the Village meeting on December 9th. An amendment to the committee membership rules will need to be changed, which basically lets former employees of the Village of Mundelein join the committee. Darrell should be sworn in at the Village meeting on December 9th. REAPPOINTMENT: Every member of the committee signed a form that states we are either a resident of Mundelein or employed by the village. These forms were turned into Jenn Rogers 100th Anniversary Report: Dan will meet with his friend to finalize a 100th Anniversary logo. She will try to have them ready for the committee sometime in December. She is doing the work at no charge. We then went down the list of items for possible giveaways. The items approved were: Challenge coins - 500 quantity. It was agreed that the committee will purchase these and some will be given to members and various other VIPs. The rest, approximately 350, will be sold for $10.00 each. We agreed to go with the bronze coin with a full color design on the front and on the back the 100th logo. Bill will start the process and get us a sample to work on. We have to purchase the coins by credit card and then get reimbursed from our account. Our cost will be around $3,000.00. The next item is the folding Frisbees. We agreed to purchase 1000 at about 60 cents each. The next item is the fridge magnets, 4 X 4 inches with our logo and perhaps pertinent phone numbers like police, fire and village. We will purchase 1000 at about 65 cents each. We will still be looking into some small toy ducks with our logo, but still need to check prices. We are looking at 500 small cloth backpacks with draw strings, but are still looking at prices. We said no to the cloth tote bags, T-shirts, some toy fire trucks and Toy Dalmatians. We will also purchase our Dalmatian firefighters hats, without a logo and put on our own stickers. The total to buy is 500. We have purchased these in the past. We will perhaps need additional funds for banners. Banners for the sides of the fire truck, banners for the front of the Fire Stations and even some banners for a few of the Villages Light Poles. We agreed to request a donation of $5,000.00 from the village to help cover our costs for these celebrations. Tim Wilson advised that we have a new person in communications, Freedom Nguyen, and he will work with us to promote our 100th Anniversary events. Hopefully, this will be done on a no-charge basis. Tim also suggested that we make a big deal about our birthday at all the events next year. Have a birthday party as part of every event. Items to be worked on include, new 100th hats, new 100th shirts for committee members, and a Tighthead special beer. We would still like to look at 100th Anniversary logos on beer cups, but they may be too expensive for us. We also need to redesign our ring the bell sticker with the 100th logo and a discussion was made to  update some changes on our baseball card. We discussed when we would hand out different items at different events. We would hand out some at the Park-on-Park Car Shows and the Drive-the-Village program, the Fire Department’s Pancake Breakfast, our Golf Outing and the Farmers Market. We said at events like the Lake County Fair and visiting other villages, we would just use the “I rang the bell stickers”. EVENTS: We still need to meet with the Seminary to see what can be organized there for next year. We talked about doing a couple of events in conjunction with the Mundelein Museum. Dan suggested we have an Antique Fire Truck Meet. There are several older fire trucks in the area that would be interesting to have them come to an Old Number One Birthday Party. We presented the idea of having the trucks come for a day at the museum. We perhaps could park them on the grass in front of the museum. NEW BUSINESS Winter Maintenance • Check the bell counter • Repair awning carrier bag zipper. • Fix ONO sign for front of awning. • Fix electrical connection for spotlight. • Repair cooling hose and leak. • Check driveshaft bolts and re-tighten. • Check the level of water in the batteries. • Check brake adjustments. • Check clutch pedal adjustments. • Look over oil leaks and fix if possible. • Check on quantity of round tuit’s. • Check on quantity of baseball cards. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made to suspend our meeting in December. Wendy has graciously agreed to have our annual Christmas gathering at her home on the 16th of December. The next formal committee meeting is Monday, January 20, 2025.
