A. CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chairman David Blaydes
and attendance taken by Julie Mendoza-Morris
B. ROLL CALL:
Commissioners Present: David Blaydes, Ron Davidson,
Kim Widup, Kirsten Young
Commissioners Absent: Mark Wright
Police Liaison: Commander Michaus Williams
Fire Liaison: Deputy Fire Chief Dina
HR Assistant: Julie Mendoza-Morris

F. REPORTS:
1. Approve open session minutes from January 8, 2018 BOFP meeting
A motion was made by Commissioner Kim Widup to accept the minutes of the
January 8, 2019 meeting, seconded by Commissioner Ron Davidson. The motion
carried with a unanimous voice vote.
1. Police Department Report
Recent recruit has resigned the ISP Academy
Armed robbery at Portillo’s - suspect walked into drive thru and

took the cash pouch from employee
CCTA - Grant - Joint rescue training at PNC Bank on
Washington St
2. Fire Department Report
New hire and 2 Promotions will be done on February 11
3 retirements from same station
Several home fires, no loss of life or displacement of residents
Ice rescue - individual fell thru was recovered went to hospital
and was released
G. ACTION TAKEN:
A motion was made by Commissioner Kim Widup to make a Conditional Offer to
police officer candidates #10 seconded by Commissioner Ron Davidson. The
motion carried with a unanimous voice vote.
A motion was made by Commissioner Ron Davidson to make a Conditional Offer
to Firefighter candidates #2, #3 and #4 seconded by Commissioner Kim Widup.
The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote.
A motion was made by Commissioner Kim Widup to accept the closed session
minutes of January 22, 2019 and retain restriction, seconded by Commissioner
Ron Davidson. The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote
H. CLOSED SESSION:
The closed session was held at 4:20 p.m. in the West Wing Conference Room
of the Municipal Center located at 400 S. Eagle Street. Closed session was
conducted pursuant to Section 2(c)(1) and 2(c)(21) of the Open Meetings Act to
consider information concerning the employment, appointment and
performance of specific candidates in the Naperville Police and Fire
Departments and to consider closed session meeting minutes.
I. ADJOURNMENT:
A motion was made by Chairman David Blaydes to adjourn closed session and
return to open session at 5:15 p.m., seconded by Commissioner Kirsten Young.
The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote.
