The meeting was called to order at 3:58 p.m. by Chairman David Blaydes
and attendance taken by Julie Mendoza-Morris:

Approve and review open session minutes from January 22, 2019 BOFP meeting
A motion was made by Commissioner Mark Wright to accept the minutes of the
January 22, 2019 meeting seconded by Commissioner Ron Davidson
The motion carried by a unanimous vote.
Approve closed minutes
A motion was made by Commissioner Mark Wright to accept the closed session
minutes of January 22, 2019 and retain restriction, seconded by Commissioner
Kirstin Young. The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote The motion
carried by a unanimous vote.

Cancel/reschedule the BOFP March 26 meeting depending on whether there will be a
quorum

F. REPORTS:
1. Police Department Report
Police Shooting - office cleared and suspect is charged
Missing person of 2018 - Ruled a homicide
Burglary - home invasion still under investigation
3 calls handled by PD from Saturday Morning to Sunday early
morning - outstanding job done by a shift of 13 personnel
2. Fire Department Report
New Recruit is doing well
Lt Reading List has been posted at all firehouses
Jan 23 Structure Fire - cause was cooking, house uninhabitable
Jan 23 shooting - fire ambulance responded - private ambulance
service was there in the parking lot - assisted patrons to
safety - also were first to administer aid to suspect
Jan 30 - auto extrication - patient treated and survived
Jan 31 - structure fire - discarded heated materials and started a
fire
Feb 3 - structure fire - unattended sourcing materials - previous
NEMA volunteer - no injuries - uninhabitable
Feb 10 Structure fire - cause cooking, no injuries, uninhabitable
Review Sergeant testing schedule

Recommendation and review of Police Officer candidates
A motion was made by Commissioner Mark Wright to make a Conditional
Offer to police officer candidates #12 and #17 seconded by Commissioner

Ron Davidson. The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote
A motion was made by Commissioner Ron Davidson to terminate from the
process of Police Officer candidate #11 seconded by Commissioner Kirstin
Young. The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote
Recommendation and review of Fire candidates
A motion was made by Commissioner Ron Davidson to terminate from the
process of Fire candidates #1, #9 and #6 seconded by Commissioner Mark
Wright. The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote
A motion was made by Chairman David Blaydes to make a Conditional
Offer to Fire candidate #11 seconded by Commissioner Ron Davidson.
The motion carried with a unanimous voice vote

A motion was made by Commissioner Kirsten Young to adjourn the meeting at
6:12 p.m., seconded by Commissioner Ron Davidson. The motion carried with a
unanimous voice vote.
