A. CALL TO ORDER:
I would like to call the Board of Fire and Police Meeting for October 13,
2020 to order.
Pursuant to Section 120/7(e) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the
continuation of the Governor’s disaster proclamation, and Mayor
Chirico’s executive order determining that in-person public meetings
are not currently practical or prudent because of the Covid-19
pandemic, we are holding this Board of Fire and Police Commission
meeting remotely.
The commissioners and staff participating in tonight’s meeting are all in
different locations in accordance with social distancing guidelines, and
steps have been taken to ensure that the Commissioners can hear one
another and all discussion and testimony. The public has been provided
notice of alternative means of access to the meeting so they are able to
contemporaneously hear all discussion, testimony and votes. All votes
shall be taken by roll call.

Approve open session minutes from September 22, 2020
A motion was made by Commissioner Widup, seconded by Commissioner
Davidson, motion carried by the following vote:
Aye 5- Blaydes Widup Wright Davidson Young
Introduce the new BOFP liaisons: Stephanie Gianetto and Caitlin Smith
New liaisons were introduced by outgoing liaison
Review the ties on the Primary Eligibility Register.
Ties were broken on Primary Eligibility Register for Police Officer candidates.
This Report was approved.

1. Police Department Report
Police reported a stabbing on October 10, 2020 and a shooting on
October 12, 2020. The Police Department is working on their 2021 budget
and is also planning for the 2020 Election and any necessary police
response.
2. Fire Department Report
Fire reported 2 new employees are progressing well through training and
will be assigned to a station soon; there are also 5 new employees who
have successfully completed their probation period. The Fire Department
is working on their 2021 budget. Four nominees for the Citizens
Appreciate Public Safety (CAPS) award were presented to the Board. The
Fire Department will grant an extension for a Firefighter/Paramedic
candidate who needs to makeup a missed CPAT test due to quarantining
for COVID.
G. CLOSED SESSION:
I move to adjourn to closed session pursuant to Section 2(c)(1) and 2(c)
(21) of the Open Meetings Act to consider information concerning the
employment, appointment and performance of specific candidates in the
Naperville Police and Fire Departments and to consider closed session
meeting minutes.

This motion was made by Commissioner Blaydes and seconded by Commissioner
Young.
