Eagle Street City of Naperville Naperville, IL 60540 Meeting Minutes Board of Fire and Police Thursday, October 29, 2020 12:00 PM Zoom Meeting ID: 860 4210 9309 Passcode: 7730 +1 312 626 6799 US (Chicago) I would like to call the Board of Fire and Police Meeting for October 29, 2020 to order. Pursuant to Section 120/7(e) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the continuation of the Governor’s disaster proclamation, and Mayor Chirico’s executive order determining that in-person public meetings are not currently practical or prudent because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are holding this Board of Fire and Police Commission meeting remotely. The commissioners and staff participating in tonight’s meeting are all in different locations in accordance with social distancing guidelines, and steps have been taken to ensure that the Commissioners can hear one another and all discussion and testimony. The public has been provided notice of alternative means of access to the meeting so they are able to contemporaneously hear all discussion, testimony and votes. All votes shall be taken by roll call. A. CALL TO ORDER: B. ROLL CALL: Present 3- David Blaydes, Kim Widup, and Ronald Davidson Absent 2- Mark Wright, and Kirsten Young C. PUBLIC FORUM: No members of the public attended D. OLD BUSINESS: The winner of the Commissioners Award for the FD CAPS ceremony was selected. 1. REPORTS: 1. Police Department Report Department is reviewing the lateral entry applications that have been submitted 2. Fire Department Report 2 new hires graduating Friday 10/30 and will be assigned to a station Still awaiting results of the written test from the vendor Ruthi Sommers (Customer Service Assistant in Fire Administration) is retiring after 33 years G. CLOSED SESSION: 12:28 p.m. - 12:31 p.m. A motion was made by Commissioner Blaydes, seconded by Commissioner Davidson. The motion was approved. Aye 3- Blaydes Widup Davidson Absent 2- Wright Young H.
