A. CALL TO ORDER:
I would like to call the Board of Fire and Police Meeting for February 9,
2021 to order.
Pursuant to Section 120/7(e) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the
continuation of the Governor’s disaster proclamation, and Mayor
Chirico’s executive order determining that in-person public meetings
are not currently practical or prudent because of the Covid-19
pandemic, we are holding this Board of Fire and Police Commission
meeting remotely.
The commissioners and staff participating in tonight’s meeting are all in
different locations in accordance with social distancing guidelines, and
steps have been taken to ensure that the Commissioners can hear one
another and all discussion and testimony. The public has been provided
notice of alternative means of access to the meeting so they are able to
contemporaneously hear all discussion, testimony and votes. All votes
shall be taken by roll call.

F. REPORTS:
1. Police Department Report
Had a couple stolen cars from dealerships in town
Just finished up lateral-transfer interviews which went well
Crime stats for 2020 were down; 4 percent reduction in crime
11 PD openings; working on getting positions filled
2. Fire Department Report
Busy month, 1200 calls for the month of January; no significant incidents
No current FD openings at this time
Still working on getting FD department vaccinated
G. CLOSED SESSION:
4:14 p.m. - 4:46 p.m.
H. ACTION ITEMS:
Continue in the process police officer lateral candidates #1, 4, and 5 and police officer
candidates #2 and 3
A motion was made to continue in the process police officer lateral candidates
#1, holding on #4 and #5 and to police officer candidate #2 and #3
