A. CALL TO ORDER:
I would like to call the Board of Fire and Police Meeting for April 27, 2021
to order.
Pursuant to Section 120/7(e) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the
continuation of the Governor’s disaster proclamation, and Mayor
Chirico’s executive order determining that in-person public meetings
are not currently practical or prudent because of the Covid-19
pandemic, we are holding this Board of Fire and Police Commission
meeting remotely.
The commissioners and staff participating in tonight’s meeting are all in
different locations in accordance with social distancing guidelines, and
steps have been taken to ensure that the Commissioners can hear one
another and all discussion and testimony. The public has been provided
notice of alternative means of access to the meeting so they are able to
contemporaneously hear all discussion, testimony and votes. All votes
shall be taken by roll call.

F. REPORTS:
1. Police Department Report
Currently filming awards show for CAPS award; exciting day to recognize
officers for the outstanding work they have done
2 roll-over crashes; 1 was fatal
Mental health calls continue to pile up
2. Fire Department Report
Roll-over and a structure fire on the 19th
Lots of calls and accidents lately; almost at 5,000 calls for the year
48% in cardiac saves so far this year; national average is 27%
Only 1 current opening in the department; first time in at least 10 years
without a spring academy; will wait until the fall for an academy
