CALL TO ORDER: I would like to call the Board of Fire and Police Meeting for May 11, 2021 to order. Pursuant to Section 120/7(e) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the continuation of the Governor’s disaster proclamation, and Mayor Chirico’s executive order determining that in-person public meetings are not currently practical or prudent because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are holding this Board of Fire and Police Commission meeting remotely. The commissioners and staff participating in tonight’s meeting are all in different locations in accordance with social distancing guidelines, and steps have been taken to ensure that the Commissioners can hear one another and all discussion and testimony. The public has been provided notice of alternative means of access to the meeting so they are able to contemporaneously hear all discussion, testimony and votes. All votes shall be taken by roll call. B. ROLL CALL: Present 4- David Blaydes, Ronald Davidson, Kim Widup, and Mark Wright Absent 1- Kirsten Young C. NEW BUSINESS: Review and approve open session minutes from April 27, 2021 Review and approve open session minutes from April 27, 2021 A motion was made by Commissioner Widup and seconded by Commissioner Wright Aye 4- Blaydes Davidson Widup Wright Absent 1- Young F. REPORTS: 1. Police Department Report Currently celebrating police week; big week for department to recognize and honor all the hard work from the department Police Memorial being held on 5/14 at the Memorial Wall Lateral transfers are moving rapidly; bringing great experience to the table 4 new officers headed off to PTI Spotlight on Facebook is a great resource to show active cases and incidents in the area Continuing to adjust the downtown plan regarding complaints of loud vehicles 2. Fire Department Report Fire Captain Promotional Assessment going on; 10 Lieutenants going through the process 1 small bedroom fire; all got out safely with no injuries Incident involving a vehicle in the pond; special rescue response and dive team was activated; patient was transported to Edward’s Hospital G. CLOSED SESSION: 4:20 p.m. - 4:43 p.m. H.
