400 S. Eagle Street City of Naperville Naperville, IL 60540 Meeting Minutes Board of Fire and Police Tuesday, June 22, 2021 4:00 PM VAI's Italian Restaurant A. CALL TO ORDER: I would like to call the Board of Fire and Police Meeting for June 22, 2021 to order. Pursuant to Section 120/7(e) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the continuation of the Governor’s disaster proclamation, and Mayor Chirico’s executive order determining that in-person public meetings are not currently practical or prudent because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are holding this Board of Fire and Police Commission meeting remotely. The commissioners and staff participating in tonight’s meeting are all in different locations in accordance with social distancing guidelines, and steps have been taken to ensure that the Commissioners can hear one another and all discussion and testimony. The public has been provided notice of alternative means of access to the meeting so they are able to contemporaneously hear all discussion, testimony and votes. All votes shall be taken by roll call. The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chairman David Blaydes and attendance taken by Caitlin Smith B. REPORTS: 1. Police Department Report 2. Fire Department Report Tornado hit Naperville/Woodridge area on Sunday, June 20th; no fatalities and few injuries resulted FD operated out of the Emergency Operations Center and did an excellent job handling the emergency Fire station 2 sustained a fallen tree from the tornado, damaging the roof 1 structure fire; no injuries FD retirements have picked up; FD is working with HR on new hire list City of Naperville Page 2 Printed on 7/26/2021 Board of Fire and Police Meeting Minutes June 22, 2021 3.
