Board of Fire and Police Meeting Minutes September 16, 2021
A. CALL TO ORDER:
I would like to call the Board of Fire and Police Meeting for September
16, 2021 to order.
Pursuant to Section 120/7(e) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the
continuation of the Governor’s disaster proclamation, and Mayor
Chirico’s executive order determining that in-person public meetings
are not currently practical or prudent because of the Covid-19
pandemic, we are holding this Board of Fire and Police Commission
meeting remotely.
The commissioners and staff participating in tonight’s meeting are all in
different locations in accordance with social distancing guidelines, and
steps have been taken to ensure that the Commissioners can hear one
another and all discussion and testimony. The public has been provided
notice of alternative means of access to the meeting so they are able to
contemporaneously hear all discussion, testimony and votes. All votes
shall be taken by roll call.

A motion was made by Commissioner Wright and seconded by Commissioner
Davidson

Felony Lane Gang has been hitting towns; garage and car burglary’s have
picked-up

Successful 9/11 ceremony over the weekend

Approve continuing in the process police officer lateral candidates #27 and 28
A motion was made by Commissioner Wright and seconded by Commissioner
King
Aye 5- Abubaker Davidson King Wright Young
Approve/Deny the authorization to hire firefighter/paramedic candidates #3 and 8
A motion was made by Chairman Young and seconded by Commissioner King to
authorize hire to firefighter/paramedic candidate #8. A motion was made by
Commissioner Wright and seconded by Commissioner Abubaker to continue in
the process firefighter/paramedic candidate #3 in which Commissioner
Davidson's vote was "nay"

A motion was made by Commissioner Davidson and seconded by Chairman

candidate #26 by Chairman Young and seconded by Commissioner Davidson
