A. CALL TO ORDER:
I would like to call the Board of Fire and Police Meeting for October 26,
2021 to order.
Pursuant to Section 120/7(e) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the
continuation of the Governor’s disaster proclamation, and Mayor
Chirico’s executive order determining that in-person public meetings
are not currently practical or prudent because of the Covid-19
pandemic, we are holding this Board of Fire and Police Commission
meeting remotely.
The commissioners and staff participating in tonight’s meeting are all in
different locations in accordance with social distancing guidelines, and
steps have been taken to ensure that the Commissioners can hear one
another and all discussion and testimony. The public has been provided
notice of alternative means of access to the meeting so they are able to
contemporaneously hear all discussion, testimony and votes. All votes
shall be taken by roll call.

F. REPORTS:
1. Police Department Report
Jason Arres has been named City of Naperville’s new Police Chief;
swearing in will take place November 10th
Naperville North High School threat was made from New York City; case
was transferred to New York’s jurisdiction and person was charged
Investigating some of the other school threats that have happened
2. Fire Department Report
Thursday, 10/28 is CAPS ceremony
Informal swearing in of promoted Lieutenant on 11/1; more formal
ceremony to come
4 members going through academy are doing well; still on track for
November 23rd
Increase in retirements; will probably see one of the largest academies this
spring
G. CLOSED SESSION:
4:08 p.m. - 4:18 p.m.
H. ACTION ITEMS:
Approve the hire of police officer lateral candidates #27 and 28
