ROLL CALL: Present 5- Shafeek Abubaker, Ronald Davidson, Chad Earl, Mike King, and Deana Losurdo C. PUBLIC FORUM: Student from Yorkville High School, her father, and Jim Ensign attended from the public D. OLD BUSINESS: E. NEW BUSINESS: Review chapters 3 and 7 of the BOFP Rules and Regulations Review submissions for CAPS Commissioner’s Award (this was done in closed session) Review and approve open session minutes from April 11, 2023 Review and approve the recipient of the CAPS Commissioners Award A motion was made by Commissioner King and seconded by Commissioner Abubaker Aye 5- Abubaker Davidson Earl King Losurdo Review and approve open session minutes from April 11, 2023 A motion was made by Commissioner King and seconded by Chairman Davidson Aye 5- Abubaker Davidson Earl King Losurdo F. Police Department Report Press release went out today re: arrest of parents who encouraged their daughters to beat up a classmate at a bus stop 4 officers being sworn in 4/26/23 (3pm at the PD in the Roll Call Room) 2 officers graduating from PTI academy 4/27/23 May 18 is the CAPS event at Mason Sebeka Police testing is complete; 43 on the Initial Eligibility Register Commander Williams and Commissioner Abubaker interviewed 6 lateral police officer candidates on 4/13/23 2. Fire Department Report 4/17 -Water rescue at the Quarry; it was a false alarm (no one in the water) but due to large presence, a press release went out 4/24 - shed fire on Fairway Lane 4/17 - Fire Academy started with 8 new FFPM’s; they have EMS this week and next week then 6 weeks of Fire; Bolingbrook has 8 people attending EMS training with our academy and Warrenville has 2 people doing the Fire portion of our Academy G. CLOSED SESSION: 4:29 p.m. - 4:52 p.m. H.
