NEW BUSINESS: 1. Provide feedback on significant changes identified through the 2018 International Building Code Update. Trevor Dick, Development Services Team, presented the significant changes that have been identified by most of the ICC Code Update committees. Staff’s goal for the April 18, and May 16 BRB meetings is to present significant changes and receive feedback. Feedback from the BRB on all significant code changes will be presented to City Council at a future meeting likely in May or June. Staff will seek City Council feedback on the Code prior to soliciting formal comments from the building community and public this summer. Staff recommendations will be brought back to the BRB and City Council in Fall 2018 for adoption. Upon review of the new code provisions, staff developed a matrix which highlights the significant and minor changes being proposed by the committees. These are listed in Attachment 1. Paul Felstrup, TED, discussed the significant changes found in the National Electric Code. At the May 16th 2018 BRB meeting staff plans to present significant changes identified by the Committees working on the IRC, IBC, NEC, and IMC. Trevor concluded by asking members of the BRB to provide feedback on significant changes identified through the 2018 International Building Code Update. Board members thanked staff for the summary of changes and stated they were looking forward to the next meeting to discuss the remaining significant changes. Board members who have been participating in the process on Code Committees discussed their experiences and how their teams worked well together. H.
