CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Miller called the meeting to order at 6:34 pm B. ROLL CALL: Also present: Geneace Williams, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager, Miranda Barfuss, Community Grants Coordinator, and one member of the public C. PUBLIC FORUM: None D. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Approve the Human Rights and Fair Housing Commission meeting minutes of July 1, 2024 Commissioner Palm moved to approve the Human Rights & Fair Housing Commission meeting minutes of July 1, 2024, seconded by Jeff Hild. The Motion was approved by a unanimous voice vote. E. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Receive follow-up information regarding an alleged housing discrimination complaint, render a decision, and direct staff accordingly The Commission received staff update and determined there were insufficient facts to support the complainant's allegations of discrimination. Commissioner Palm moved to dismiss the complaint for want of factual information supporting a claim of discrimination. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Miller, approved and carried by the following roll call vote Aye: 5- Hawken, Hild, Jacobs, Miller, and Palm Absent: 3- Bergeron, Green, and Wilson F. REPORTS: 1. Receive an update on the Analysis of Impediments to the Fair Housing project Staff reported that HUD published Rule-making entitled "Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing." With the proposed rule-making, the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing is on hold until the rule-making process is completed. This Report was received. Receive an update on the 2024 Human Rights and Fair Housing Commission Annual Report Staff reported to the Commission regarding the process for completing and submitting the 2024 Human Rights and Fair Housing Commission Annual Report, which must be submitted by February 2025. This Report was received. G. ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner Palm moved to adjourn the regular Human Rights & Fair Housing Commission meeting of September 9, 2024, at 6:55 pm, seconded by Commissioner Hawken.
