E. NEW BUSINESS:
1. Information on Naper Nights 2025 Lineup
Harriet M. Pistorio discussed ticket sales for the top billing WAR which is going
well along with country music sales. However most tickets sales occur the
week of the concert event. Macarena (Rena) Tamayo-Calabrese informed all
of the success we have by offering different genres of music. Lee Quillinan
asked about ticket prices. Harriet M. Pistorio explained that our ticket price is
very reasonable. Macarena (Rena) Tamayo-Calabrese explained that we are
the least expensive compared to other music events bringing these same
bands.
2. DCEO 200K Grant
Harriet M. Pistorio explained that we received the DCEO Illinois Department of
Commerce and Economic Opportunity award for 200K for the HVAC in the
Century Memorial Chapel. Naper Settlement has a CIP request to the city for
398K and that the 200K will be used to offset the cost. No questions or
comments.
3. Kubota 50K Grant
Harriet M. Pistorio explained we submitted a 50K grant to Kubota Foundation a
tractor and machinery company. 25K would be for equipment and the other
25K for a programmatic piece. If successful, we would use 25K for the sensory
garden to refresh and upgrade the playscape. The other 25K would be for a
utility golf cart to haul things around the grounds. Marcie Schatz asked if Naper
Settlement is seeing any impact on the federal level with grants? Macarena
(Rena) Tamayo-Calabrese answered that the industry as a whole is very
concerned. We have a grant out for NEA National Endowment for the Arts and
NEH National Endowments for Humanities. We focus on where the money is
and for the purpose needed. Alex Atkinson followed up saying that the federal
grants that we already had committed were executed so there was no fall out.
