PUBLIC HEARINGS: 1. Conduct the public hearing to consider a variance related to the proposed ground sign at 1661 Aurora Avenue (Gerald Kia) - PZC 22-1-086 Adam Beaver, City of Naperville Planning Services Team, provided an overview of the request. Zach Blair, Rosanova and Whitaker Ltd, attorney for the petitioner, provided additional details on the request. Public Testimony: None Commissioner McDaniel asked if all other signage that is 20’ in height required approval of a variance. Gabrielle Mattingly, City of Naperville Planning Service Team, clarified that existing signage of that height either sought approval of a variance or may be nonconforming with City's current sign code regulations. Commissioner Castagnoli asked if staff was in support of the request. Beaver confirmed staff is in support. A motion was made by Commissioner Richelia, seconded by Commissioner McDaniel to adopt the findings of fact as presented by the petitioner and approve PZC 22-1-086, a variance to Section 6-16-5:2.2 to allow for the installation of a 20-foot-tall ground sign with an area of 130 square feet for the property located at 1661 Aurora Avenue (Gerald Kia). Aye: 6- Athanikar, Castagnoli, King, McDaniel, Richelia, and Robbins Absent: 2- Losurdo, and Van Someren E. REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Approve the minutes of the September 21, 2022 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting The PZC approved the meeting minutes. A motion was made approved. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. F.
