E. NEW BUSINESS:
1. Review and discuss the CY20 SECA Grant Fund applications
The Commission reviewed the CY20 SECA Grant Fund applications and asked
questions. Portner advised the following questions will be sent to the applicants:
NCTV17 - Production Truck Upgrade
Can the production truck upgrade be done piece by piece? Would partial
funding help, or is this request all or nothing?
Simply Vedic - Festival of Colors
According to the budget worksheet, $4,000 of the request, is to cover the cost of
the colors necessary for the event. The budget worksheet also shows $12,000
in income from the sale of the colors. Can this be further explained? It seems
like a large sum of money, especially since the colors are being sold to the
attendees.
Chicago Sinfonietta - Community Concerts
Please provide examples of where the musicians performed in 2019, and on
average, how long the performances last?
Summer Place Theatre - 2020 Season
How will the upcoming merger with the Park District, mentioned in your
application, impact your SECA funding not only for CY20 but moving forward?
Firefighter Highland Guard
Do members pay any fees to perform with the group? Do members incur any
costs for the uniforms or the instruments? Please provide additional information.
Indian Community Outreach - Cultural Nights
Please provide additional information about the scholarship program.
