Subcommittee
Kim reported out on the subcommittee's work, discussed the creation of a
Naperville Arts Committee (NAC), its membership composition, and that the
NAC will be responsible for managing the new Naperville Arts Program. He also
reviewed committee duties, annual Call for Projects, and the need for a process
to review requests that are submitted off cycle. He ended the presentation with
how the Naperville Arts Program could be funded and how the NAC could
partner with other groups like the Downtown Naperville Alliance to facilitate
low/no cost projects over the next year.
The ETF discussed the NAC membership and stated the importance of having
a well balanced committee. The ETF said a goal is to ensure the group had
representation from the arts community as well as members with experience in
areas such as project management, fundraising, and community relations.
Brodhead suggested that the members review the proposal in more detail and
stated that additional discussion will take place at the next ETF meeting with the
goal of reaching consensus on program design to present to the City Council in
October.
