A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen was held Monday, November 24, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. in the Aldermanic Chamber. President David W. Deane presided; City Clerk Paul R. Bergeron recorded. Prayer was offered by City Clerk Paul R. Bergeron; Alderman-at-Large Sheehan led in the Pledge to the Flag. The roll call was taken with 10 members of the Board of Aldermen present; Alderman Dowd, Alderman Chasse, Alderman Moriarty, Alderwoman Brown, Alderman Wilshire were not in attendance. R-14-091 AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY TREASURER TO ISSUE BONDS NOT TO EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF SEVEN HUNDRED FORTY SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($747,000) FOR A CATERPILLAR LANDFILL COMPACTOR President Deane What this piece of equipment is going to do is replace the current Bomag compactor that we have down there that was part of the purchase of our landfill expansion bond a number of years ago. Information has been posted on the website. Everybody has copies of the continued significant issues that we’ve had with the Bomag. The Public Works Director was kind enough to go out and size a piece of equipment that we need to get full compaction rates. This is what the director came back with. In our CERF schedule, this piece of equipment is listed in there. I believe it was due out in a few years, but with the escalator in CERF what had been figured was about $1.3 million. That’s what the public hearing is about this evening.
