AMR June and July Reports
o July was a much slower month than normal, with approximately 60 less transports
than a usual month.
o AMR conducted an MCI disaster drill in July, and there was excellent
participation from Nashua health and safety agencies, including both hospitals.
The next disaster drill will be held in November.
o There will be flu shot clinics for AMR people during the upcoming months.
We hope for 100% compliance, but it cannot be mandated.
Scott Cote – SNHMC people have to have proof of allergies in order to be
exempt from receiving the flu shot; or if none, they must wear a mask
during flu season.
Fran Dupuis commented that St. Joseph Hospital has a similar policy.
o Will provide in-service coverage for upcoming events, including “National Night
Out”, “Touch A Truck” and varsity football games for Nashua North, Nashua
South and Bishop Guertin high schools.
o AMR will be working with the Nashua Police Department SRT team to provide
training for their members.
o We are working with the Senior Activity Center to donate an automated external
defibrillator to them for their main activity room.
CPR training will be provided for their staff.
o Kerran asked about Bath Salts
Chris stated that the State of New Hampshire changed their protocol to
allow additional meds when “state of mind / lack of mind” symptoms
create a dangerous situation.
Discussion was held regarding cases at both hospitals.
There will be a discussion group regarding Bath Salts that will start in the
fall.
Review of the Q2 2012 CQI Report: April 1, 2012 – July 31, 2012
o LUCUS2
o A total of 19 patients were treated and transported for pre-hospital cardiac arrests,
and of those, 13 were treated with the LUCUS2 device.
Three patients did not meet LUCUS2 sizing standards.
One patient survived to be discharged from the hospital.
o ASA Protocol Compliance
o 29 patients with chest pain/suspected MI were treated by AMR.
6 of those patients were excluded from the ASA protocol, either by having
been treated with ASA prior to AMR’s arrival or by having a condition
that precludes ASA.
100% of the remaining 23 patients received ASA treatment as per
protocol.
o Patient Satisfaction
o Chris reviewed the information contained in the individual pie charts and will
include percentages in next month’s reports.
o Scott asked how AMR arrives at the numbers in the charts.
Chris stated that these numbers are a sampling of 500 people per quarter
Questionnaires are sent randomly.
o According to returned surveys, overall patient satisfaction remains high, and
efforts are underway to improve the sample size.
o Caring for Maria Update
o The Caring for Maria Update program was officially launched last month, and
AMR Nashua is participating in the “Other Things that Matter” area of the
program.
Chris reviewed the “Other Things that Matter”, including Airway
Ventilation; STEMI/Stroke and Pain and Discomfort.
Jason is on vacation this week, but for the next meeting he will be back
and will update everyone.
Kerran asked if there were any questions for Chris. There were none.
Kerran opened the meeting to Public questions and comments. There were none.
Kerran Vigroux requested a motion to adjourn.
Fran Dupuis moved to adjourn the meeting.
Richard Conway seconded the motion.
