Meeting of March 18, 2010
A meeting of the Board of Assessors was held on Thursday, March 18, 2010, in Room 208, 2nd floor of City
Hall. The meeting was called to order at 8:15 AM by Chair Marylou Blaisdell.

Minutes of the Meeting:
Minutes for the meeting held on March 4th were approved unanimously.
Abatement Requests Presented:
A complete listing of approvals/denials is available in the Assessor’s Office.
Regarding the proposed settlement for a 2008 abatement appeal with Superior Court as well as a 2009
abatement filed for the property located at 90 Northwest Boulevard, Mr. Dominic D’Antoni showed the
Board a newspaper advertisement for the property showing it for sale and the asking price was higher than
the proposed revised assessment. Mr. D’Antoni asked Deputy Assessor Robert Gagne to reconsider this
offer in light of this information. Mr. Gagne advised he was aware of this asking price and feels this is not a
realistic selling price. He feels the proposed assessment is the highest dollar amount this property could sell
for in its current state. Among other things, the assessment reflected the entire lot as useable and only a
portion of the lot is actually useable. After some discussion the proposed settlement was approved with Ms.
Blaisdell and Mr. Moriarty voting to approve, and Mr. D’Antoni voted to deny it.
Appointments: none.
Staff Items:
Mr. Gagne advised the Board members of a proposed settlement for a 2008 Superior Court appeal for the
property located at One Chinook Road and that the taxpayer would like to address the Board. The taxpayer
is available for the meeting scheduled April 15, so he may be at that meeting.
Old Business: none
MOTION BY Marylou Blaisdell to adjourn at 8:45 AM.
