Minutes of the Board of Assessors
Meeting of March 20, 2014
A meeting of the Board of Assessors was held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 in Room 208, 2nd floor
of City Hall. The meeting was called to order at 8:15 AM by Chair Dominic D’Antoni.
Members Present:
Dominic D’Antoni Robert Earley Daniel Gagnon
Assessing Staff Present:
Angelo Marino Andrew LeMay Gary Turgiss
Greg Turgiss Cheryl Walley
Minutes of the Meeting:
The minutes for the meeting held on March 6, 2014 were approved.
Abatement Requests Presented:
A complete list of abatements presented is available in the Assessor’s Office.
Using Pictometry images, Chief Assessor Angelo Marino displayed a long rectangular lot in south
Nashua on the border of Dunstable, MA which is owned by the Town of Dunstable’s Conservation
Commission (Map B/Lot 3128).
This lot was identified as a taxable lot in 2006 and it has been taxed since. It is a very small portion
of a larger lot in Dunstable, approximately 850 acres, that includes lakes, hiking trails, etc. which are
used by Nashua and other New Hamsphire residents for recreation. It has no real frontage and using
Pictometry’s measuring tool, Mr. Marino determined it to be only about 33’ wide. The only value
may be to the abutting lots in the Crestwood development as a small amount of additional land. The
assessed value is currently only $5,200.
He explained that this letter, received February 25, 2014, is considered a timely-submitted
abatement on the 2013 taxes, so he recommends approval to abate $122.20, the amount billed for
2013. He said it will be made clear to those concerned in the Town of Dunstable that in future years
the required forms (A-9 and A-12 forms) must be submitted for the Board of Assessors to consider
this for a charitable exemption.
The Board members agreed and approved this abatement for 2013.

Staff Items:
The Board had received all the paperwork submitted by the owner of 12 Ritter Street with their
application for a tax deferral for 2013. Mr. Marino told the Board that he recommends the tax
deferral be approved as the applicant meets the criteria. After some discussion the Board of
Assessors made the following motion:
MOTION BY Dominic D’Antoni that the 2013 tax deferral be approved as the applicant meets the
criteria set by RSA 72:38-a
SECONDED BY Daniel Gagnon
MOTION CARRIED unanimously
The Board members concurred that when it is necessary to provide financial data to them for their
review, a summary of the applicant’s financial situation would suffice. If it is necessary for them to
view the applicant’s actual backup documentation, it will be available at the meeting.
MOTION BY Robert Earley to adjourn at 9:00
SECONDED BY Daniel Gagnon.
MOTION CARRIED.
