Staff Items:
Supervisor of Assessing Administration, Ms. Louise Brown presented one 2014 application for
an elderly exemption and one 2014 application for a disabled exemption that was received
after the statutory deadline of April 15, 2014. She advised the Board the exemption was
denied because required documentation was not received by July 1, 2014 which is the
statutory deadline for processing exemption applications. After the applicants received the
final bill in November, 2014 they came in to inquire about the removal of the exemption and
were reminded we were waiting for additional documentation and never received it.
This documentation has now been received and based on the paperwork submitted, the
applicants meet the criteria to receive the exemption for 2014. After some discussion the Board
approved the late filing of these applications and made the following motions:
MOTION BY Robert Earley to accept the application for an elderly exemption late as the reason
falls under “accident, mistake or misfortune” as allowed by State of NH law.
SECONDED BY Dominic D’Antoni.
MOTION CARRIED.
