City of Nashua Division of Public Health & Community Services 18 Mulberry Street, Nashua, NH 03060 BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING June 12, 2013 12:30 PM 18 Mulberry Street, 2nd floor Nashua, NH 03060 MEETING MINUTES BOH Members Present: Dr. Anthony Storace Dr. Peter Klementowicz Staff Present: Kerran Vigroux, Beverly Doolan, Corinn Dembkoski, Ashley Conley, Heidi Peek, Bob Mack Formal Meeting was called to order at 12:48 p.m. The Board members were given copies of the June 2013 Meeting Agenda, May 2013 Department Reports and the May 2013 BOH Meeting Minutes. Kerran introduced Melissa Whalen as the new Public Health Network Services Program Assistant. She will be working with Ashley and Patty on that grant. 1. Vote on acceptance of the May 2013 meeting Minutes: a. Motion made to accept the May 2013 Minutes b. Motion accepted by Dr. Klementowicz c. Seconded by Dr. Storace Department Reports Department Managers and Program Coordinators summarized their monthly reports which are attached to these minutes. Of special note, Heidi Peek announced that Keira Delude will be resigning from her position as Lab Director for the Division. She has worked for the City for over a decade and has been a 1 key player in many of the efforts in Public Health. Her expertise and poise under pressure will be sorely missed. DISCUSSION Dr. Klementowicz asked about Public Health’s role in Mental Health. Patty Crooker explained how the Mental Health Workgroup of the CHIP process is made up of the key Mental Health partners in the City including H.E.A.R.T.S, Greater Nashua Mental Health Center, The Youth Council, the Counseling Center of Nashua and 2-1-1. This workgroup is focusing on a comprehensive media campaign addressing the sigma of mental illness.
