City of Nashua Division of Public Health & Community Services 18 Mulberry Street, Nashua, NH 03060 BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING April 8, 2015 12:30 PM 18 Mulberry Street, 2nd floor Nashua, NH 03060 MEETING MINUTES BOH Members Present: Dr. Anthony Storace, Chair Dr. Thomas Astolfi Dr. Charles Cappetta Alderman Lori Wilshire Board members were given an agenda,, March 2015 minutes, and copies of the department reports. An informational only meeting was called to order at 12:36 pm because there was no quorum. A quorum was met at 12:57 pm. Minutes: Dr. Astolfi made a motion to accept the March, 2015 minutes, Dr. Cappetta seconded the motion. Unanimous passage. Reports Department Managers and Program Coordinators who were present summarized their reports for the month of March, 2015. For those not present, written reports were included for the Board to review. Highlights shared from the Department reports included:  The Lyme Disease Toolkit is complete and a press release has been issued. There have been 197 hits on the Division webpage since its release;  The Neighborhood Health tool has been finalized and is available on the City’s webpage. It portrays the Social Determinants of Health by census tract. Plans are to expand with more regional information as it becomes available;  Our interns, Robin Yoshida and Patrick Reidy presented posters of their projects at the annual NH Public Health Association meeting; 1   The video series “My Health. My Care” has finished filming and we are now conducting 10 screening events around the region. We are receiving a lot of positive feedback and evaluations.  Reminder that May 28, 2015 is our Annual Public Health Conference held at Nashua Community College from 8:30am – 3:00pm.  We are having a very busy and successful National Public Health Week this week. Our two largest events are the Kids Health Fair at Dr. Crisp Elementary School and the Behavioral Health Fair to be held on Friday at the Pheasant Lane Mall.  Rene has begun taking the UNH Soils for Septic course. This will allow him to handle septic approvals for the Department.  Heidi needs the Board of Health to approve the Protocol for Food Service License Suspension and Revocation. The Board will review the draft prior to the May 13th meeting so that discussion and passage are possible. Public Comments None Dr. Astolfi made a motion to adjourn. Dr. Cappetta seconded the motion. The Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 1:21 pm. The next meeting will be on May 13, 2015. 2
