Minutes of Board of Public Works Special Meeting of September 18, 2014 A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at the Division of Public Works, Administration & Engineering offices, 9 Riverside Street, Nashua, NH 03062. Members Present Mayor Donnalee Lozeau, Chair Lisa Fauteux, Director of Public Works Commissioner Kevin Moriarty, Vice Chair Andrew Patrician, DPW Operations Mgr Commissioner Paul G. Bergeron . Commissioner Tim Lavoie Commissioner Tracy Pappas Mayor Lozeau called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. and called the roll. Commissioner Commissioner Lavoie: Present Commissioner Moriarty: Present Commissioner Pappas: Present Commissioner Bergeron: Present Mayor Lozeau: Present I. MOTION Public Comment - None II. Administration A. MOTION: Commissioner Pappas to approve the hiring of Diane Thibodeau of Manchester, NH for the position of Executive Assistant to the Director. Starting annual salary for this position will be $49,778.32. Funding for this position is through Department 160 Admin/Engineering; Fund: General; Account Classification 51 Salaries & Wages. SECONDED: Commissioner Moriarty MOTION CARRIED: Unanimously The position of Executive Assistant to the Director provides administrative support to the Director of Public Works. Additionally, the Executive Assistant will supervise the Administrative Assistants within the Division. The position will also handle confidential information including non-public meeting minutes, grievances and other personnel matters. The position is Merit due to the Admin oversight and access to confidential information. The vacancy was posted on the City website as well as through the NH Municipal Association, Massachusetts Municipal Association, APWA and Indeed.com on August 26th. We received 210 applications for the position. After review of the applicants, the ten strongest candidates were interviewed. The interview team was comprised of the Director of Public Works, Citizen Services Director and Finance & Administration Manager. Diane has over twelve years of high level administrative experience. She has supported multiple CEOs and high level Vice Presidents dealing with confidential information. In addition, Diane has supervisory experience. III. Non-Public Session Per RSA 91-A:3, II(a) MOTION: Commissioner Moriarty by roll call that the Board of Public Works go into Non-Public Session per RSA 91-A:3, II(a) to discuss the consider the dismissal, promotion, or compensation of a City employee.
