Minutes Board of Registrars’ Meeting October 29, 2015 10:00 a.m. City Clerk’s Office Present: Kathryn Fogal and Patricia Lucier. Also present City Clerk Patricia Piecuch 1. K. Fogal called the meeting to order at 10 a.m. 2. P. Lucier moved to acceptance the minutes of Board of Registrars’ meeting of September 2, 2015. Seconded by K. Fogal. Motion passed. 3. P. Lucier moved to accept the City Clerk's report of deletions, additions and corrections to the checklist. Seconded by K Fogal. Motion passed. 4. P. Lucier moved to certify the checklist to be used at the November 3, 2015, Municipal Election. Seconded by K. Fogal. Motion passed. 5. P. Luicer moved to appoint the following individuals to serve as Deputy Voter Registrars during the November 3, 2015, Municipal Election. Seconded by K. Fogal. Motion passed. Ward 1 – Rosemary Fiery, Margaret Frey, Irene Vantine and Frances Blanda Ward 2 – Carole Gaffney, William Gaffney and Elizabeth Blondeau Ward 3 – Diana Lytle and Joan Connacher Ward 4 – Janeth Orozco Sanchez and Migdalia Padilla Ward 5 – Judith Vowels and Vicki Meagher Ward 6 – Susan Waye and Fleurette Rioux Ward 7 – Jeanne Gagnon and Gloria Fulgoni Ward 8 – Michele Edington and Vengerflutta Smith Ward 9 – Patricia Lucier, Sylvia Lavoie, Barbara Glassman and Beatrice Dillaby 6. City Clerk P. Piecuch advised the Board that the Presidential Primary would take place on February 9, 2016. The last day for voters to register to vote in the office would be on January 30, 2016, so a meeting would need to be scheduled so that the Board could accept the checklists. Dates were looked at and the next meeting was scheduled for February 4, 2016. City Clerk Piecuch advised the Board they would be looking at hiring four Deputy Voter Registrars per ward to handle the number of new registrants expected that day. Also, the last session date required the Clerk’s 1 Office to be opened a minimum of 11 – 11:30, but City Clerk Piecuch stated the office would be opened from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and that she was also going to schedule additional nights to be opened for voter registration. 7. New Business – City Clerk Piecuch advised the Board that Susan Waye would be the newest member to the Board, but since she was working in the City Clerk’s Office she would not be able to take office until such time as she resigns from the office. City Clerk Piecuch advised that Ms. Waye will probably stay on, in the office, until after the November Election, at which time she is done, she will be sworn in and will assume her duties as a member of the Board of Registrars. 8. P. Lucier motioned to adjourn. Seconded by K. Fogal. Motion passed. 2
