MINUTES CITY OF NASHUA CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS COMMITTEE January 5, 2015 Meeting called to order by Dan Kelly at 6:00 PM Roll call by: Dan Kelly, Chair Members in attendance: Dan Kelly Charles Budris Roger Houston John Griffin Larry Szetela Bob Canaway David Fredette Dan Moriarty (arrived late during first presentation) Staff – Marcia Wilkins Linda Panny Absent – Brian McCarthy (Alt) Approval of Minutes Mr. Fredette made a motion to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded by Mr. Houston and approved unanimously. Confirmation of Election There was not a quorum at the last meeting. Mr. Houston went over the list of officers: Dan Kelly, Chair Charlie Budris, Vice-Chair Roger Houston, Secretary Mr. Budris made a motion to approve the officers and it was seconded by Mr. Szetela. The motion was approved unanimously. Presentations: The following departments gave their presentation for capital improvement project requests: Airport Authority They are looking for rating for their grant share of various projects including the removal of a fuel farm, purchasing land, and the installation of fences and gates. Nashua Fire Rescue Projects include the addition of a bay at Station 3, deferred maintenance at all facilities, adding a fire alarm system and hose tower. Nashua Public Library They are requesting the expansion of the west wing in lieu of expanding the east wing. Police Department Their top priority is the replacement of the emergency backup generator followed by the emergency command center with parking for specialized response vehicles. Department of Public Works Parks and Recreation are looking at resurfacing Centennial Pool, central irrigation system, and upgrades to Greeley Park and Holman Stadium Engineering Department is looking for funding for street paving, sidewalk construction and improvements to various intersections, drainage improvement projects, bridge rehabilitation, and Amherst Street Charron to Diesal Road improvements. Street Department projects include adding a DPW Truck Wash, updating of the heating system at their facility and the ongoing Downtown Improvements to the sidewalks and drainage issues. Solid Waste is looking to expand the landfill gas expansion and setback the barrier wall.
